Great British Design: Moulton folding bike.

Find out about Dr Moulton (click on link)who died today at the age of 92. He was a pioneering design engineer who developed small wheeled bicyles in the 1960s. He also worked with Alec Issigonis on his iconic Mini design.

There was also an article about him on Radio 4's Today (2 hours, 9 minutes in to the programme, 11/12/12,) programme this morning, you need to read this sooner rather than later as iPlayer articles are not kept indefinately.

Where there's muck there's brass....

If you haven't been watching  Michael Palin's Brazil try to make the time to have a nose - partcularly if you are studying or intend to study GCSE Geography. There was an interesting item in this week's programme on the recyling of plastics in Brazil - the turnover of one of its largest recycling companies was £400, million. (Yes, that was million.)

Will we be mining our landfill sites for thrown away plastics in years to come I wonder?
